Bright sunshine
Today we have breakfast at the Hakaniemi market, which we cycle to in the sunshine, a beautiful route partly along a lake and through green areas.
There was even live music in the tent where we, like many others, enjoy our breakfast.
We stroll through the large Hakaniemi market hall, where there is delicious fish, meat, cheese, sweets, and everything you need to be happy.
However, we only buy cheese, bacon for the evening quiche, and smoked reindeer ham, and then walk towards the Cathedral and the Russian Uspenski Cathedral.
The Cathedral is still grandiose, as it was five years ago,
the Russian church is unfortunately closed, this time due to renovation.
Helsinki is easy to explore by bike and on foot, we wander towards the market square near the train station, find many places we have already seen, but are still excited.
Since we can hardly absorb the many impressions anymore, we ride back to our apartment and have a long lunch break.
In the afternoon, we ride our bikes to the former West Harbor area where we had an apartment five years ago. We also find the one-Point Bar where we drank Finnish vodka back then. Everything is great, but our impressions can no longer be surpassed, we realize that the journey home is getting closer and that we are looking forward to being home.
