January 28 - a day full of food

After a restful night, Marc and I went to Lustigs (a suite next door) and woke up Karina with an African Happy Birthday song! Yes, she celebrated her Sweet Sixteen today ;)

Then we went to Zorgvliet and had a cozy picnic in the garden. Of course, we also surprised Christine along the way and it was so nice to see her again!

After a short walk to our wedding venue with full stomachs, we returned to our accommodation and refreshed ourselves in the pool. After Carsten successfully fought off the mean blue South African sea snake (known to everyone else as the pool vacuum cleaner), we went to Root 44.

Everything was torn down and rebuilt at this market and they are still not completely finished - but if all the plans can be implemented, it will be great. Spontaneously, Marc's sister Tess and her family joined us and we had a glass together.

After that, we had to hurry because we went to Fat Butcher to celebrate the day. It was simply heavenly - from the salad to the meat and dessert. Then we almost rolled home by ourselves because our stomachs were more than full. Now we let the evening fade away with coffee and the chirping of crickets. Tomorrow we're off to Hermanus..
