Winter at the Ranch

MIVOAKA: 25.01.2022

Hey! 😬

This update is way overdue... 😅

Sorry! There has been so much going on here. We had a few retreats over the past weekends, including the S.A.L.T. Retreat for new young people who are considering attending Bible school here. I had the opportunity to make a video about it! Here is the link so you can get a glimpse. ☺️

We are currently experiencing sub-zero temperatures at the Ranch. Lots of snow, which can make things a bit challenging at times. It's definitely colder than anything we've ever experienced. Sometimes, it feels like -22 to -30 degrees up here on the mountain. ❄️

Last week, our media team went on a field trip. I also made a video about it, but I'm still working on the editing. ;) I'll include the link in the next blog entry. In the meantime, here are some pictures of Lake Erie and the harbor. 🚢

Speaking of media, Abby, the student I worked with in media during my first year at the Ranch, came to visit. It was a surprise because I had no idea she was coming. We had a great time together! 🥰

We also expanded the Facebook Shop. We had models showcasing new sweaters, T-shirts, and other merchandise. Even first-year students had the opportunity to participate. It was a cool community project! 😃

One of my roommates recently celebrated her birthday and asked for a plant as a gift. So we pooled our resources and got her one. She was delighted, and we were happy to see her smile. 😊

What's coming up in the next few days? What do you think? What did I write about in January last year?

We have butchering day again in four days. I wrote a report about it last year. Let's see how I feel this time. Will it be easier? I can't say for sure. I still find it sad. But it's part of life, as difficult as it is to admit. 😐

I'm currently thinking a lot about what I want to do this year after completing my second degree at the Ranch. It seems like deja vu. I'm trying to discern what God wants from me and where He sees me. But that takes time and prayer. 🙏🏻

Be blessed 😇

Yours, Salome

What's coming up in the next few days? What do you guys think? What did I write about last year in January?
