Today was the first day of my diving course and I have to say I'm really looking forward to tomorrow! Today we did exercises in the pool most of the time to get to know the equipment. Tomorrow we will do our first two dives in the sea. We are a group of 4 people; two Swiss, one German, and myself. We got along well right away and after the course, we went out to eat together, where we already planned our first dive trip.
Because we were given homework and have the first test tomorrow, I was planning to go to the beach in the afternoon to study (yes, I really wanted to). I did some snorkeling and was about to take out my book when a boy, a bit younger than me, sat next to me and asked in broken English if we could talk because he is teaching himself English. I immediately liked him and after a short conversation, his group joined us. A group of about 10 Balinese people who were making a bonfire on the beach, playing the guitar and drums, singing some classics like Take me home country roads, lemon tree, and even German songs like Marmor, Stein und Eisen bricht. Everyone was singing along, it was just a beautiful feeling. The whole group welcomed me and even though I just had dinner, they wouldn't take 'no' for an answer and gave me a huge plate of homemade food. I have no idea what it was, but it tasted damn good. :)
After chatting with almost everyone, we exchanged numbers and they invited me to do the same thing tomorrow. They also said they would like to invite me to their homes to show me their village and see how the locals live here.
You can only dream of such warmth and hospitality in Austria!
Ps: The photos are nothing special, I don't have my camera with me and I'm just taking a few snapshots with my phone. :)
Today's text is a bit more serious, but I was just overwhelmed by the situation. :)
And because I naturally procrastinated everything again, I have to study for tomorrow at night, but I already know that from my school days, so it's all easy.
