Well-rested and breakfasted for the big mountain stage in the Dikti Mountains. I am prepared for anything today. It's sunny this morning at least. Maybe I can reach a summit today. There are 3 peaks over 2,000 meters here. However, the forecast for the next few days is cloudy with thunderstorms again. My hike begins with a steep ascent through the forests of Salankano, crossing dry riverbeds and forest paths. After 2 hours, the first break. Clouds are slowly forming up here. When I reached the place where I camped with Sonja back then, it was completely overcast. Maybe around 5°C and it started to rain. I took out the tarp and had lunch. Since the weather didn't improve at all, I decided to descend to Agios Georgios after all. That was my coldest and wettest hiking experience so far. Climbing to the summit or even staying overnight up here was out of the question. The descent was long and rocky. However, the temperature warmed up again once I was below the clouds and the rain stopped. In Agios Georgios, I stayed at Hotel Maria. I also had dinner at Maria's. It was very delicious and friendly.
