# Day 13 ... Lidl no longer accepts cash

MIVOAKA: 13.03.2022

The weather report is gloomy. No matter where you look within a radius of 200 km - cloudy sky, rain clouds, and storms. But at least it's not cold.

So it remains a day of rest in the motorhome without any outdoor appointments. Let's see how long that lasts.

Until 2:30 pm. Then something has to happen. With Rainer, one of the last evenings at home, I had a good red wine from Languedoc. I still remember the winemaker Pierre Caval, especially since his winery is also located near Montpellier. Google helps me and boom - only 45 km away. That's quite a plan.

On Saturday afternoon, it's pretty easy to drive in France. Hardly any traffic on the roads and no one goes outside in this weather anyway.

The navigation system already warned me when entering the address - parts of the route are unpaved. When I then stand in front of the entrance, I have doubts about whether I should drive in there.

Especially since there is an open sales outlet in the village itself called 'Cellier du Pic', a cooperative/bottler for the wines of the region.

Cellier du Pic

First, I'll take a look at that and I find what I'm looking for. A small wine tasting with selected drops is a must. How much should I take with me? In southern France, it is now common to offer everyday wines in 5-liter boxes. There are then the differences in quality (quite simple = IGP Pays d´oc, and something better = AOP Languedoc).

Anyway, I'm now supplied! On the way back, I stop by Lidl in Aigues Mortes. It already looks very upscale from the outside, no comparison to the Lidl markets here. Even from the inside, you get the impression that Lidl in France has a higher-end image.

At the cash register, there was a surprise when I wanted to pay my €10 purchase in cash. Lidl does not accept cash - only payment by bank card.

Oh, will my debit card work? Yes, it does (after I had to remember my PIN first).

But now back to the parking space. The gate closes at 6:30 pm and you can't get in or out anymore.

The evening is characterized by sports news, cooking dinner, and following the home game of HC Bremen against the Hunte-Aue Lions live on the ticker at nuliga.

31:26 for HC Bremen. Thanks guys, well done.

The rain is decreasing at night, but a storm is coming. The motorhome is rocking like a ship on the high seas.

Tomorrow I will continue towards the Spanish border. The sun is supposed to shine in Barcelona from Monday onwards.
