Northernmost Point - Interim Result

MIVOAKA: 16.08.2019

We have now become accustomed to living in a motorhome. One has to restrict oneself quite a bit, especially in bad weather. And luckily, Steffen takes care of cleaning the toilet. But traveling from place to place really has its charm. It's a great feeling to always have your home with you and to be able to park wherever you like. And the constantly changing, beautiful landscapes are simply fantastic and priceless. We are so glad we embarked on this journey and are using our time with our Bruno in such a wonderful way.

When we have electricity on our pitch, we have no restrictions. Now that we are in Norway, however, we will often have to stay without electricity as there are fewer places and everything is more expensive here. Then we have to manage well with various devices because the power outlets in the motorhome don't work. We can always charge our phones while driving and the warm water and stove work with gas. The refrigerator also always works. We just hope that we don't run out of gas, otherwise we would have to refill it at a high cost.

In some cities, you have to pay a road toll, which is also a hidden cost. The parking spaces are also not always cheap. Yesterday we went shopping in a small town at Lidl. The packages are much bigger than ours, but they also have their price. A cucumber costs about €2.20, because apparently they don't grow well here and have to be imported at a high cost. On the other hand, you can fill up on fresh shrimp from the deli counter in the supermarkets. Almost everyone speaks English here, so we don't have any communication problems.

Now we are looking forward to Norway, where the landscape will be a bit rougher and more exciting. We are curious and will be surprised, and hopefully it won't get any colder. I mostly packed summer clothes for Bruno and myself. Well, then we will snuggle up closely to each other and we do have a heater as a last resort.

Today, on our way to Norway, we accidentally discovered the largest waterfall in Sweden and thus reached the northernmost point of our journey. All I can say is: breathtaking force of nature!
