Chapter 11.1 - Island-hopping to Gili Air

I'm ready to depart. I'll have a plate of fruits and a coffee before I go.

The ride with the Gojek Bike was cheap but exhausting. The driver couldn't fit my big backpack between his legs because the scooter is small. Riding with 14kg on my back through stop and go traffic and jams was like a morning workout. I'm still a bit tired, but I'm looking forward to my island-hopping adventure.

For now, I leave Ari Putri and Sanur behind in the scooter's rearview mirror.

I got my ticket at the Cruise Office and received a boarding pass and a sticker.

By the way, I paid a total of 371k including the hotel pickup. And still, plenty of people made money from it.

We've been waiting at the Nusa Penida harbor for 1 hour now. We changed boats, and the last stragglers are finally boarding. The air inside the boat is stagnant. It's steaming. I won't be in Gili Air by 11:30 am for sure. Hopefully, we'll finally set off now...

I'm sitting in a beach bar after having lunch and enjoying two cocktails. Can't complain about 2 for 4.20€. I haven't had a single drink in Indonesia yet. It's about time, especially after all the ups and downs 🤪

I'm sitting on the beach in a bean bag chair in front of a bonfire. I spent the whole evening with the guys from the bar. The sunset was amazing. I'll probably hang out with them more in the coming evenings.

I'll probably head back to my hostel soon. I'm getting tired :) But now, we're having another Brem. Five of us are sharing a glass of beer with rice liquor.
