Please dear God, let the parasite disappear again!

When we arrived in Merida, Asma was unfortunately feeling worse again. So we decided to go to the hospital. The blood test showed that she had a new roommate - a parasite. Scholle and Lissi then decided to get tested too...

Scholle is spared for now, but Lissi, like Asma, has to take antibiotics 😑 After all, it is one of the best hospitals we have ever been to and the results come back after just 2 hours. Well, maybe we weren't careful enough with the food and water after all!

We rent a car and want to drive to Izamal first (of course Europcar wants more money than stated in the contract and we spend 1.5 hours arguing with the rental company🤨 until it finally works out). We have a wonderful evening there, climb a Mayan pyramid to watch the sunset and then realize that it's not that easy to get back down in the dark. Afterwards we spend the evening in a super cool bar where the ingredients for the drinks and food come from the bar's own garden (cultivated in the Mayan style). You can definitely taste it! This time we're staying in a hotel. Super nice and inexpensive!

The next day we drive towards Campeche. On the way there we visit the Mayan ruins. It is soooo hot and we see fires everywhere!!!! But we fight bravely. Now comes the moment that everyone warned us about. We are approached by police officers somewhere in the middle of nowhere. But they just ask us our names, introduce themselves and take a photo of us?! We are confused but relieved 🤣. We have heard completely different stories.
