A Day Underwater

MIVOAKA: 29.06.2023

After not being able to go snorkeling on Tuesday, we made up for it yesterday. In the morning, after breakfast, we rented a diving set each for about 3€.

There are situations in life where you have to be flexible, especially when you have shoe size 51 🤣. The Balinese people, and most other people on this earth, are smaller than Rainer. So it was a bit of a challenge to find suitable fins. In the end, he decided to let his long toes stick out from the opening.

The next challenge was getting into the shallow ocean with these huge "duck shoes". It was quite funny how the two of us slipped in 🤣. Then we fixed our goggles and snorkels. This also had to be practiced because goggles can get dirty. So the two of us spat into them three times, and... they were clean.

We only needed to go about 3-4 meters in, and we saw many colorful fish. Many small ones, some medium-sized ones, and thankfully no large fish. However, most of the corals were gray or beige, and were probably damaged by human hands. Although it was very exciting and we had a lot of fun, we were a little disappointed. We want to try it again here in Amed, in front of our hotel, as well as a few kilometers away at a Japanese shipwreck.

Amed is a diving paradise, you just have to find it. ❤️🐟🤿
