Panglao - it can't all work out

MIVOAKA: 10.06.2017

Panglao is connected to the island of Bohol by two roads. We arrived by boat from Pamilacan at Alona Beach, well known for its beautiful dive spots and fine sand. After finding an affordable accommodation right on the beach, we booked 2 dives for the day after tomorrow and wanted to snorkel in Oslob on the way back to Cebu on the 3rd day to see whale sharks. After a delicious dinner and a cocktail, the next day was all about chilling on the beautiful beach.

But then everything turned out a little different than expected: Janina was sick the last few days in the Philippines (stomach flu). On the travel day to Cebu, one day before the flight to Singapore, things got somewhat better, thank God.

So now the first part of our trip is already over and we are leaving the Philippines again. A country that has definitely fascinated and inspired us.

So here's our final conclusion:

• The country is incredibly large (you definitely need to plan time to get from A to B).

• The Philippines are very diverse in terms of landscapes.

• We have never seen such blue water and beautiful beaches.

• The people are friendly and most of them have not left their island/city.

• Even though many areas are already very touristy, Western standards are not or rarely found.

The Philippines are definitely worth a visit and we haven't seen everything yet. Many thanks to Simone Weber for providing us with useful tips.

So next, we will fly to Singapore and see what the city has to offer.
