It's raining and raining and raining.

Unfortunately, I (Carole) have been chased by rain for almost a week now. Nevertheless, I tried to make the best of it.

In Bariloche, Argentina, I went on a little hike to a viewpoint with my Canadian friend and enjoyed the view of the lake landscape - or what was visible despite the rain.

Next, I continued my journey to Puerto Varas in Chile. But here, unfortunately, I couldn't do much more than relax. The place is actually known for its view of two impressive volcanoes, which I unfortunately didn't see... you can probably guess why.

The journey continued to the second largest Chilean island - Chiloé, more precisely to Ancud. Here, I not only encountered rain but also got to know the rugged Pacific winds. The highlight, on the other hand, was the hostel... by chance, out of an estimated 17 guests, 15 were Swiss and practically only Swiss German was spoken ;)

With a German girl I met on the bus to Ancud, I continued my journey the next day to Castro, the main town on the island. Chiloé is known for a very special type of houses, called Palafitos, which are located on the coasts. From the road, they look like normal houses. But at low tide, you can see from the coast that the houses are completely built on stilts.

In addition, we visited the Chiloé National Park and also visited two of the typical wooden churches that are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
