This morning, the men of the crew had to get up early. The alarm clock rang at 6 o'clock, the captain had reserved an early bird tee time at Lakewood Country Club in Naples. Before we were ready to tee off at 7:15 am on tee 1, we stocked up on half a dozen donuts and some cold soft drinks. The boys then safely drove our cart across the course and supported me as a caddy. Meanwhile, our ladies were still doing their beauty treatments with their eyes closed. In just over three hours, we completed the short Par 60 course in good fashion. When we returned to the hotel, the ladies were still enjoying breakfast. Before checking out in Naples, we had a short time for a dip in the pool. After that, we loaded up Fordinand and made our way to Cape Coral. The nearly one-hour drive flew by and we arrived at our home for the next 3 days around 1 o'clock. American Eagle, that's the promising name of this chic suburban house. Unfortunately, the house was not ready for occupancy when we arrived, so we took the time to do the necessary shopping at the nearby Publix, as we will be self-catering for the next few days. After settling into our accommodation, we familiarized ourselves with the house...The kids subjected the pool to its first stress test and I was particularly fascinated by the garage door. I locked it so well that in the end I could only open it again with the help of the property management - that's what you call a perfect start. ;-)
We dined today on our pool terrace. In addition to salad and grilled salmon, there was a very awesome tender 300g U.S. Prime Beef T-Bone Steak. Wow!
So that today's entry doesn't completely miss the title, here's this: Tonight we completed the first third of our journey through the Sunshine State and we all agree that we are not a bit tired yet. The great thing about the third break is that it's not yet halftime. So we still have a lot ahead of us. Yeah!
Tomorrow two great things are on the agenda. First, our dear Grandma Waldi is celebrating her 90th birthday. Grandma, warmest congratulations on your 90th anniversary. Please stay healthy for a long time and celebrate properly tomorrow. We are thinking of you and toasting to you!
In our travel program, tomorrow is Sanibel Island, and supposedly it has the most beautiful seashells on its beach...
We're looking forward to both. Over and out!
