Also on the second day we left the hostel in San Pablo de Lipez at 7:30 a.m.
Our first stop was a copper mine near Villa Mar. This is still partially operated by the people in the village.
Afterwards we drove two hours to the next point, where there were again stones to climb. The formations were called Copa del Mundo, Kamel 🐪 or Italy.
From above, you always had a great view, but I didn't climb everywhere. Usually the climbing up is not the problem, but the climbing down. Elvis - our guide - always made sure that we didn't fall down, as there were occasionally several meters down. While we were resting on top, he climbed up and down five times and reappeared in different places 🐒.
Next we went to Laguna Vinto, where flamingos live in the winter who find it too cold in the National Park. (By the way, the national park was closed due to snow, so we had some alternative destinations.) However, the flamingos were quite far away, so we could hardly see them. But we were promised closer flamingos for the following day, which can also be seen without a telephoto lens.
Second to last for the second day, we went to the Laguna Negro - the black lake.
During the drive, we often saw llamas and vicuñas - also called sexy llamas because they look like llamas without fur.
Here too, we could climb a bit to get a better view of the lake. At the end of the day, I had a small blister on my finger from climbing so much. But we had so many great views from above that I will survive that :D
Finally, we went to the Snake Canyon, a canyon where a kind of snake head sticks out and also has its name because of the winding shape of the river.
