Arriving in Oslo, we park our car at a harbor parking lot. About 30 € for 24 hours is still cheap by Oslo standards and there are toilets and showers (although they are not particularly clean). Then we take the bus into the city because we want to meet up with Nina and Mauri there. We had arranged to meet at the street food market. The only problem is that Tina and Nina each meant a different market, so we can only meet at the opera house an hour later. Fortunately, there is only one opera house in Oslo and it is impressive!
Together with the two of them, we explore the city, but we constantly have to find shelter somewhere because it is raining heavily at times. The city is relatively empty, probably not only because of the weather, but also because of the recent attack. Oslo and us, we just don't really connect. The city is well-maintained and super modern, but it lacks character. With the opera house, the royal palace, the university, and various museums, Oslo is definitely worth seeing. One day is enough for us though.
After spending the evening grilling together, it is suddenly already 3 o'clock in the morning (but still not really dark, so you quickly lose track of time).
The next morning greets us with heavy rain again, and unfortunately, it will continue like this all day... That's why we spend most of the time in the car driving to Kristiansand. We take a short break from the rain to visit the largest stave church in Norway in Heddal. Stave churches are always built entirely of wood, and this one is particularly beautiful with its towers and decorations.
We spend the night just outside Kristiansand at a small parking lot right by the water and dream of good weather!
