Little paradise ...

Last stop ... Zanzibar. Or as it is written here: Zanzibar.

The approximately nine-hour flight over the Indian Ocean from Singapore first went to Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) and then ... after three hours of waiting and some delay in one of the ugliest transit areas I have ever visited ... further to Zanzibar.

The difference between the departure and destination airports could not have been greater. Singapore Airport is already huge, very noble and pure high tech. Even for the WiFi password, you have to digitally scan your passport. In Zanzibar, however, all of this had more the charm of a medium-sized garage 😏.

Obtaining the necessary visa stamp was, to say the least, chaotic. The security check somehow cute. Because I seriously doubt whether the "device" really scans the luggage 😀😀😀 ... . On site, everything was quite clear and the essential equipment could be found without much searching: money exchange and SIM card. While the SIM card dealer was struggling with my temperamental cell phone for installation ... I think the cell phone will soon give up the ghost ... I could search for my backpack (there is no baggage belt) and afterwards hold up the sign "Best SIM Card" for promotional purposes for the dealer ...

But as expected, everyone was very relaxed. Although after a long flight and little sleep, I was pretty groggy. Especially the back and forth during the visa issuance ... three work steps, three officials ... really put me to the test.

Then about an hour taxi ride and finally I was in my accommodation for the next five days. Super chilling there, very paradisiacal. Palm trees, white sandy beach, turquoise water. Heart, what more could you want. Although, even though I've only been here for half a day, the colors change a lot, depending on the tide or sun position. Slept like a baby in my bamboo hut in the first night ... including the sound of the sea 😊.

The owner is a Hamburg native who emigrated for love. The advantage is that all questions can be clarified without communication problems. Quite pleasant as well.

Today I rented an old bike ... without brakes ... and will explore the surrounding area.

Definitely a place to stay!!!👍👍👍
