The first full day in SF was ahead. Get up, mini breakfast at 8 o'clock and then go to a terminus of the Cable Car near Union Square. SF has a total of 3 different lines of this quaint train.

Our first destination was the famous Lombard Street, which we reached after a short and steep walk, without any mountaineering equipment. Luckily, we were spared from crowds of tourists, so we could take some pictures in peace. Strangely enough, there were no food vendors there. A good location in terms of street food...

We continued along Lombard Street to the Coit Tower. This tower, built in the 1930s, allowed us to get a magnificent overview of SF from its top. By the way, we were lucky with the weather: 20 degrees, sunshine and blue sky.

Next on the program was Fisherman's Wharf. At the latest here, the stream of tourists increased, but it was still bearable. In addition to countless shops and restaurants, we could also watch a variety of sea lions sunbathing here. Various street performers also tried their luck here.

After a little refreshment, we wanted to pursue our new hobby again: riding the Cable Car. So we set off to the next terminus, where we had to wait for about an hour. We were rewarded with an adventurous ride and an in good spirits driver. Our destination was California Street, where we wanted to explore SF with the third and last Cable Car line.

After a short break with a serving of Ben & Jerry's, we continued. This ride was also very amusing, and so we finally ended up on Market Street, in the Financial District, from where we reached our accommodation via Union Square. We fell into bed tired...

Best regards, Stefan
