Since we are already near Silves, we want to take a look at the town. According to the motorhome travel guide, it is a gem of architecture in the Algarve. We can't find anything at first. Not even the old town. Mrs. Google helps us find the right direction 🙈. Then we are in the narrow alleys, which are nicely paved. There are many restaurants and many tourists. Silves has a very large motorhome parking area, which is full....
The architectural gems do not reveal themselves to us. We probably just don't recognize them. We have a pizza and continue driving.
The coastal road from Lagos to Sagres is said to be one of the most scenic. Unfortunately, most of the time, you are behind mountains and can only rarely see the sea. We stop at two beaches to take a look. At the first one, several young men are in the water with boards. We suspect that they are expecting high waves. More and more surfers are coming. That could possibly get interesting.
Then we come to Praia do Ingrina. The entire hilly terrain is filled with all kinds of mobile homes. We are staying here today and enjoying a real Atlantic wave show. Unfortunately, the spectacle cannot be captured in photos.
Today we are in illustrious company. Alternative mobile homes with cool, relaxed residents (with some vehicles, you are amazed that they still hold together) and once again a van lifer, whose Facebook page I immediately liked. (Bigjump from Ireland).
Polly has made contact with the neighboring dogs and had to be sternly caught again. 😀
