Tag 65: On the way to Abel Tasman NP

Our journey continues along Highway 6 and then the country road to Motueka. Here on the country road, we get a little homesick, as the road resembles the country roads back home. Upon arriving in Motueka, we visit the i-site visitor center as usual and plan how to explore the Abel Tasman National Park. We learn that a rainy day is approaching. After a cozy fish and chips lunch, we decide to go biking tomorrow and go for a hike the day after, hopefully with better weather. So we continue to Kaiteriteri and secure the bikes for tomorrow.

Kaiteriteri is a cute town that is briefly flooded with tourists when boats arrive and then becomes quiet again. On this sunny day, the first ones venture into the water. It seems like it gets very busy here in the summer.
