Gibberish and New Year's dance

Ebimisami: 09.01.2019

Hello everyone, after a long 'absence', we are now back in the blog. We spent the last few days in Flores. Even here in the 'outback', the internet is not yet available everywhere.... so it's almost like home 😆. Today we arrived in Kuala Lumpur and will try to bring the blog up to date in the next few days. So here we go:

03.01.19

With fairly good weather, including some sunshine, we started our day trip to the Malange Hot Springs. In the small nature spa, a hot spring and a cold stream come together. We rely on Google maps and end up in the middle of nowhere in the jungle again. So back to the tried and tested method.... asking the locals. Communication in English is getting more and more difficult, but someone always speaks a few words. And our loyal companion "Gibberish Indonesian" always helps. The road to the springs is very winding and offers great views of the valley.... as long as the clouds allow it and leads us through traditional Ngadado villages. Suddenly it starts pouring again. The word rain has a completely different meaning here. Luise soon gets tired of driving, especially since the brakes occasionally fail. And driving with three people on the motorbike is quite exhausting 😬. Completely soaked and exhausted, we finally reach the hot springs and look forward to a hot bath.

On the way back, we were invited by the locals in the village of Nusamuhsi to the traditional New Year's dance, which is supposed to last 2 days. We were warmly welcomed by the residents and served Kopi manis and Teh manis (very sweet hot drinks) 😣.

Before the next heavy rain starts, we are "back home".... All in all, a very nice day for us.

PS: Unfortunately, our camera stopped working during the day 😐.
