Our adventure is right in front of us

Hello dear curious ones out there ;)

Now it is soon time for my friend and me. We will start our journey in mid-December and are in the final preparations.

As everyone of you will also know, life can be dull and boring over time. Something is missing. Sometimes you don't even know exactly what....

I have been feeling this way for many years. I am probably to blame for that, but in Switzerland, in my home country, I simply lack the 'sparkle' as we Swiss like to say.

Doing a job every day that you have to do because you need money to get by and pay the oh so great bills. To get a little variety, you go out to party on weekends and spend the whole Sunday hungover and whining in bed ;) and on Monday the same old story starts again...

Well, back to the point.
A few years ago, I was in South America for 2 years, specifically in Argentina, Chile, and Bolivia.

That was my first big trip and from that moment on, nothing was the same as before. The journey completely changed me and my outlook on life.

Since that moment, I knew exactly what I wanted and what NOT. However, I returned to my normal life here in Switzerland and did everything again as before. However, I searched for job offers for aid organizations and charitable purposes all over the world, but I simply couldn't find anything suitable and I didn't yet have the money and courage to give up everything and do it all alone.

When I met my friend, this desire to leave Switzerland became bigger and bigger. The nice thing about it is that he has the same dream and my dream became more and more a reality. One day, we decided to put everything into action. I became more and more aware of what that meant and I noticed that I suddenly became afraid.

Afraid to finally live my dream?? That can't be ;)
But the fear was really strong at the beginning.

I had to leave my apartment, my cat, my family, and everything behind and that really scared me.
But then the moment came when I was able to overcome my fears and decided 100% for it.
and the fear completely disappeared. It felt right now and still feels right, if not even more.
Because you should be 100% ready to leave everything behind and start anew. So we started making plans.

Where are we even going?
We both agreed that we want to start in Latin America. Well, that's a start. Recently, we definitively decided on Brazil because we will visit acquaintances there who will support us at the beginning of our journey and we will always have a great base and a place to come back to, as we don't know if and when we will return to Switzerland.
So, Brazil. That sounds good already. From there, we will travel towards Argentina, Chile, Peru until we finally reach Mexico.

There are no specific plans at the moment because we don't want to plan too much and want to let it happen to us. Because as we all know: plans are made to be broken ;)
