39 to Ängelholm

🇬🇧 English version below

Tour data: Distance 78.4 kilometers, time 4:07 hours, Ø 19 km/h, ascent 410 m

Weather: although clouds were forecasted, I only saw blue sky with a few veil clouds, temperature always above 20°, even now in the evening it's still 22°

Although it was the cheapest, this was one of my best accommodations. If only there were more of them! Because basically the Scandinavian countries are very expensive. Eating and drinking are not cheap either.

Today Komoot predicted to me that I have to ride many kilometers on dirt roads. But if I had known what kind of roads they are, I would have been even more excited about today's tour. Because I saw that it often goes along the coast and many beaches. In the photos you can see a sign pointing to the bicycle path "Kattegattleden". This popular cycle path has been accompanying me since Gothenburg. It ends in Helsingborg, so I will meet it again tomorrow. However, I will skip a part because it follows a peninsula like today and I take the direct route

This is what I found about Kattegattleden:

Experience the Kattegat Route - the 390 km long coastal cycling route from Helsingborg in Skåne through the province of Halland up to Gothenburg. A cycling route that offers the highest standard even in global comparison, combined with fantastic gastronomy and accompanied by beautiful views and the scent of beach and sea - it is no wonder that the Kattegat Route was awarded "European Cycle Route of the Year" in 2018!

Today I am writing from Sweden for the last time. Tomorrow I'm going to Copenhagen, so to Denmark.

But now back to today's bike tour. As soon as I left the city behind, the dirt roads started soon. But they were not gravel roads, but solid paths and forest roads. I rode them slowly, but they were very pleasant. In the end, it was about 20 kilometers that led through forests and nature reserves. Sometimes I also rode along the coast or beautiful sandy beaches. I wasn't aware that there are so many sand dunes here too. Again, there were so many particularly beautiful impressions today that I would be jealous of myself if I couldn't experience it myself. I highly recommend you to do today's route. Until then, you have to make do with my photos.

I didn't reach my actual destination for the day. Since I didn't book anything today either, I just hoped to find accommodation on the beach. And that actually worked just a few kilometers before my intended destination.

Thanks to the nice weather, I was able to enjoy my dinner I bought in the middle of the beach.
