Day 1 Captown

Ebimisami: 02.04.2017

Here we go!! The journey begins.

As a little surprise from the airline, we flew Zurich - Doha with a new type of aircraft that had never been in Switzerland before (An Airbus A350). We didn't notice much of it on the plane.

How can you make a lot of people nervous and tense at the same time? It's simple, take a plane full of people, 90% of whom have a connecting flight, and let the plane land with a 1-hour delay. This happened in Doha. I was lucky, my flight was 3 hours later than the scheduled arrival time. So my stay in Doha was shorter, but I didn't have to kill 3 hours at midnight, I could go through security and it was almost boarding time. From Doha we went directly to Cape Town.

After all the formalities were done, I took public transport from the airport to the hostel. The first surprise didn't take long. But it was a positive surprise. Both buses I had to take were punctual to the minute. I honestly didn't expect that.

After checking in at the hostel, I went on the first little sightseeing tour. I went to the Waterfront area by the sea. It's a harbor that has also been transformed into a tourist attraction. There are dry docks where fishing boats are repaired and serviced, as well as berths for boats, but also many stores to buy clothes and jewelry. Accordingly, there are always a lot of people there. But if you walk along the coast a bit, you can quickly be alone and enjoy the view of the sea.
