Byron Bay

So the last few days (19th-22nd) we spent in Byron Bay. It's a really cute little town with great shops, lots of young people, and just a different vibe compared to Sydney, which was very nice for Linda and me. On Tuesday, we took a look around and then went to a bar in the evening. After that, we met up with some people (Markus from my former workplace, who is also traveling up the East Coast, and a few of his acquaintances) at the beach to chill and listen to live music 😍 The next morning, we got up early to go jogging 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ After breakfast and getting ready, we headed to the Minyon Falls, which meant driving up a road with many potholes and then seeing a dried-up waterfall at the top 😔😔 It was still a great view, but of course, it was a shame because we could have gone swimming there too, but I did enough of that in Bali 😉 Then we went back to the campsite to go shopping in Byron Bay 😂 and then chill at the beach 🏖 In the evening, we went to the only two clubs in Byron, which were both pretty cool. The first one had free entry and a free drink, and the second one allowed you to paint yourself with glow-in-the-dark neon colors, which we definitely took advantage of 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ Both clubs also had prize giveaways, but of course, we didn't win anything 😔😔 Thursday was relatively monotone, we slept a lot and spent the rest of the time at the beach. In the evening, we wanted to go to a "party" with free BBQ and drinks - bitter reality: there were about 15 people there, you had to buy your own drinks, but there was pizza, which meant one less meal to pay for, which made us very happy. After that, we went home and Linda taught me how to play the card game Shithead, which we played until bedtime 🙈 We spent our last day visiting Byron Bay's lighthouse, where you pass by the easternmost point of the Australian mainland on the way! The views from up there were beautiful, even though there was a gusty wind of about 70 km/h .. 😟 After that, we got back in the car and headed to our next destination -> Gold Coast / Surfers Paradise! 😍
