Day 28 - 37 |07.11.2016 - 16.11.2016 Gisborne

Ebimisami: 11.11.2016

We had a verrrry long weekend because Sundays are off and we didn't have to work on Monday and Tuesday either because it rained. On one hand, it's pretty nice, but less work also means less money... On Monday, I treated myself to a nap, you wouldn't believe it, but the first one here in New Zealand.

On Tuesday, I took advantage of the free time and explored the beach. It's so relaxing when you can walk for miles all by yourself and have the sea on your left side.

Wednesday meant back to work, and today we got a different task because the thinning season is unfortunately over. Now we have to pick the buds of the male kiwis and throw them into a basket that we carry in front of us. It's quite tiring on the shoulder, but since we're already used to a lot, we can bear it. The new supervisor, Judy, gave me a nickname on the second day and now always calls me Liz. :D

On Saturday, we had a leisurely day. I bought my long-awaited jade necklace and then visited the shops in Gisborne.

In addition, we have made friends with a few Chileans and Argentinians, and we also occasionally meet some Germans who are not very strongly represented here in Gisborne. It's teeming with (loud) Spaniards, but at least we speak more English.
