13.10. The capital

Ebimisami: 14.10.2018

Andra had her birthday today and after celebrating a little bit yesterday, a big part of today unfortunately went on the drive to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, which is why there isn't much to tell today.

When we arrived here at around 4 pm, we went out to see a little bit of the city. Most of the people we spoke to on the trip so far didn't like the city at all, but we really liked the first impressions. We passed by the Royal Palace and the National Museum, which we will visit tomorrow and which will make for a good day.

The atmosphere in the city also seemed better than in other cities so far. There was more of a sense of community, with many large open spaces or playgrounds where the residents simply met to see each other.
A special highlight for Andra was a gluten-free restaurant, which allowed her to enjoy her first proper meal here. To end her birthday, we went to a rooftop bar and then went dancing in a club, which is why we didn't arrive at the hostel until quite late and were looking forward to our beds.
