Salar de Uyuni

We took a night bus to Uyuni. We were picked up at the bus stop and had breakfast. Then our tour in the salt desert started. We took a jeep to an old train that has been here for a long time. We stopped briefly at a market and strolled through the stands and the museum here. Then we continued our drive to the salt hotel. We had lunch and chatted with a Hungarian who was on our tour. After recharging, we drove into the vast desert. In the midst of nothing but salt, we all had a little photo shoot. Since there's nothing comparable here, we ended up with impressive funny pictures.
After capturing enough photos, we went to an island in the salt desert. We walked around a bit and admired the many giant cacti. The last highlight was a volcano on the edge of the area. The water here is less salty, so there are some flamingos. Before heading back, we also saw a bit of the sunset.
The next day, we strolled through the small town and the markets. After an afternoon in the sun, we took the night bus back to La Paz.
