Day 4 - the salt desert

At 4:30 we leave the hostel. We want to experience the sunrise in the desert. After a 45-minute drive, we reach 'Isla Incahuasi'. A mountain covered with cacti. Watching the sunrise from here is amazing. Unfortunately, it's also very, very cold. I think it was around zero degrees. Not ideal, especially with the wind on a mountain. Still, a great experience.

Then we continue into the desert to take the famous pictures.

However, I was done with it after 5 minutes. But I was the only one. Overall, we spent almost 2 hours there, until everyone had their perfect 500 pictures ;)

But since it had gotten warm by then and the sun was shining brightly, it was bearable.

We arrive in Uyuni around noon. There is one last lunch together and then we say goodbye.

Unfortunately, my plan to travel to Chile afterwards is not feasible. The buses don't leave until 5:00 am the next morning. So I will stay one more night in Uyuni.
