Tomorrow the veterinarian will come and do a PCR test to rule out herpes (in our horses). Until then, we have time off, as otherwise we would have to wash, disinfect, and change clothes every time we come into contact with our horses before going to the stables. We are expected to start with the young horses on Friday, by then we should also have the test results.
We used the time today to set up further. First, we went shopping and then had to translate "Hinojo" = fennel at the vegetable scale to make sure we were typing the right thing...
Back at the stud farm, I decided to clean the paddock of our horses and create a manure pile in some corners. This is not usual here. Nick helped me. We are probably the only ones who do it this way here. We converted the horse trailer into our tack room.
We were able to place the caravan right next to our horses. Our additional used awning fits perfectly!
Nick has been looking forward to his shower all day. When he undressed in front of the shower, there was no water! Those who know Nick know that he will still take a shower as planned: He then dismantled the caravan and the drawers to analyze everything. Something is broken with the pump. He couldn't fix it today, but being clever as he is, he found a workaround. If we let a different water connection run, we had water! It was enough for the both of us - VERY BRIEFLY!
Our cats are happy again, starting today we let them out. Mia is still a bit suspicious... until now she lived under our bed... Now she's outside with a GPS collar.
