Byron Bay, Lighthouse Walk + Carrot-Cupcake

Ebimisami: 15.12.2019

Spent the first night at Byron Baysides in a Quadruple Room with a mini kitchenette. Slept well, had a good breakfast, and then off we went! On to the Lighthouse Walk, past modern hippies at the legendary Byron Bay Fleemarkets.

Then we went up the fairly steep path to the Lighthouse, with a great view of Byron Bay. And before that, a detour to the easternmost point of Australia.

Once we reached the top, we had a coffee and a super delicious carrot cupcake. We definitely deserved it after the climb! Then we walked back through a cozy palm forest, over the Cape Byron Trail, down to the beach. Fortunately, Maxi helped me on the steep parts during the descent!! With bright red faces and dripping with sweat, but happy, we arrived back at our hotel. It was a really great tour!
We quickly bought pasta and shrimp at the Australian Aldi, borrowed a large pot at the reception. We cooked pasta with garlic shrimp and ended the evening with a great red wine (Black Ink from the Barossa Valley) on the balcony.
With a view of a bright orange sunset over Byron Bay! Amazing!

Tomorrow we're heading to Dorrigo National Park!
