Well well, after discovering that my entire blog entry was deleted, here once again.
To be honest, I was disappointed with the Gold Coast and especially Surfers Paradise. At least one expects some nice waves on a beach that belongs to a city called Surfers Paradise, right? Not a single nice wave. Or anything that could be remotely called a wave. The skyline from above, especially at sunset, was still very impressive and definitely a highlight. The 'all you can eat' tapas for $10 that we stuffed ourselves with and the half-price cocktails and the night out that followed are definitely worth mentioning. With the expectation of ending up at a (Mom, Dad, I'm not sure if you want to keep reading (; ) male strip show (that's what fate had decided), we entered the very popular nightclub (judging by the line at the entrance). Only to find ourselves in the midst of an underwear fashion show. Women's underwear. To the great joy of my gang, we decided to stay anyway, as the show was actually very good (even I have to admit that)! Plus, women had free drinks all night. That alone is reason enough.
Other than that, there is not much exciting to report from the Gold Coast.
(Mum, Dad, it's safe to get back in) On Saturday, June 1, we finally arrived in Brisbane. We greeted Queensland's capital from above, from Mount Coot-Tha. Despite relatively poor visibility, still beautiful!
Weather-wise, we had a little low as it was supposed to start raining in the evening. And it was generally very cloudy. So we decided to make ourselves comfortable in the park with cookies, music, and card monopoly as long as the weather held up. On Sunday, we spent the day exploring the rest of the city and going out in the evening. At least the boys went out, but I lost interest after pre-drinking and stayed in the hostel, despite very creepy, very old male roommates.
Monday morning, we got up early despite a hangover (the guys, anyway 😉) and Timo and I went to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to redeem Timski's birthday gift. A koala hug😍🐨 A complete success, I must say, because the smile couldn't be wiped off the hungover face anymore, and suddenly, I didn't feel so bad anymore. Hihii, I like it when gifts are a success. We spent the following night at a free campsite just before the Sunshine Coast. We explored it the next day. However, due to relatively bad weather, we decided that there was nothing interesting to see here, so we drove to Noosa a day earlier than originally planned.
Ah, Noosa, my pearl, it's nice to be back here.
But that's the next blog, my friends,
love to you, XO
