This stage couldn't be more different. The first 90 km are through picturesque rural areas to the northeast.
Because this stage is long and has nearly 1000 meters of elevation gain, I'm already on my bike at 7:30 under bright sunshine.
In planning this stage, I noticed that there is only one slightly larger town along the way. After about 50 km, I reach the only café that had opened just before. This allows me to replenish my energy for the remaining 70 km.
Next, I have to cross Skanssundet by ferry.
About 30 km before Stockholm, the urban density increases. Riding requires much more attention.
I pass by the Karolinska Institute. It is one of Europe's largest and most prestigious medical universities, located in Solna and Huddinge near Stockholm. The Karolinska Institute is regarded as one of the world's best medical research institutions. The Karolinska University Hospital is also affiliated with KI.
A few kilometers later, around 4 PM, I reach Stockholm.
That was my last stage in Sweden. About 800 km, mostly wonderful landscapes, are behind me.
