The island and a tiny little trip to Walmart

Ebimisami: 08.11.2024

Since it’s vacation, it was time to sleep in again today. I always find that cool. I go to bed, you work, I get up, and you’re done for the day😅
After breakfast, we went back to the room. Just hung around for a bit and thought about what to do next. Mister Red Shoulder Jörg really suggested another beach day first. I must have looked quite shocked because right after that, the suggestion came to go to Isla Mujeres (more on that will follow when the opportunity arises). I definitely want to visit the island, but not today🤷🏼‍♀️
Luckily, I remembered the nice shopping center our Uber driver mentioned yesterday. La Isla.
Checked what they had, ordered an Uber, and off we went. La Isla is a well-designed outlet mall in Cancun. Not huge (okay, maybe we just didn’t find everything), but really nice for killing some time.
Well, what really convinced me to come here: Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret 😅 Both stores were our first stops. But☝🏼 I was really reasonable and left Victoria’s Secret with empty hands. Okay, I only did that because unfortunately, what I liked was no longer available in my size🤣
La Isla also features the Sky Wheel and Ripley’s Believe It or Not. We did both and they were fine.
Google also recommended the color walk to me here. Of course, I had to check that out too. First, we walked in circles about 3 or 4 times before we found the entrance. The signage was quite poor😇😅 And the walk... I had imagined it to be a bit more spectacular. In the end, it was a covered passage between two buildings illuminated in red with a few odd pictures hanging in it.
If you're ever here, don’t bother searching for it😅 If you pass by randomly, great, but otherwise, it’s a waste of time.
Google also suggested some great spots like the two Cancun signatures. One at Mercado Coral Negro, nah, I don’t want to go there again, the other at Playa Delfines. Hmm, yes, that looks good. Initially thought we’d walk there quickly, but nearly 6.5 km in humid 29°C? No thanks. Uber!
When we arrived, again 😍🤩😍🤩 Amazing, just look at the pictures. Since there wasn’t anything at the sign except for the beach, we moved on. Next stop, Walmart🥰 I just love it here. Especially since they are already fully in Christmas spirit. At La Isla, there was even a Christmas tree up. Totally forgot to mention that earlier😅
On the way to Walmart, our driver recommended Mercado 28 in Downtown, which is just around the corner. After Walmart, we headed in the direction the driver mentioned, but yes, like yesterday, many small, nice souvenir shops, but also tons of sellers. I don’t need that again.
Called another Uber and headed straight back to the hotel. That was enough for today. Quickly acclimatized in the room at the hotel, then we tried the Italian restaurant here. It was delicious. Now we’re back in the room. Jörg is already doing eye care, so if you find any mistakes, I have no one for proofreading😅 and I'm getting this blog up to date. But I’ll end it here for today, tomorrow the alarm goes off at 4:00 AM. Why?😉
