On the trail of Saint James

Ebimisami: 03.08.2023

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Today I (Elisa) am writing another part of the blog. 😁

Today we got up early and made our way to our stopover: Santiago De Compostela. We parked the camper, people got out, and headed to the bus stop. You could take the bus to get close and then walk the rest of the way on foot.

As we strolled through the streets, we saw some great shops. Including one shop where Mom bought a new coffee machine, shops with phone cases, a souvenir shop, and ... CHURROS!!!

They were the best Churros in my entire life! 😋🥰

After eating the Churros, we continued towards the Cathedral. When we arrived, we were amazed: everything was sooo big and looked sooo amazing. 🤩

Coincidentally, some walkers who had walked the Camino de Santiago had also arrived and were celebrating. We took a look at that and then made our way back to the camper.

Additional note from Cindy and Steffi: since we both want to walk the Camino de Santiago at some point, we were especially looking forward to Santiago de Compostela. And we were not disappointed. The city has a special atmosphere, the mood is unique. And when you stand in front of the Cathedral with thousands of people, you are a little overwhelmed. As Elisa has already written, at that moment an Italian group of young walkers arrived, which made the moment even more magical: they were dancing and singing, and their good mood was infectious.

Next time, we want to walk part of the Camino de Santiago on foot, and not like now with the camper. Elisa is already making plans...
