Stage 1 - Welcome, change in weather and goodbye

Portugal gave us an incredibly friendly welcome. Last night the people sitting next to us at the restaurant let us have their food (we actually just wanted to know what the fish was called) and this morning we started the day with a great breakfast in the garden of our B&B and in the sun.

And then it started straight away. Through the picturesque Porto Covo towards the beach. The first view of the sea after a long time is always so uplifting. I actually feel better immediately and a smile automatically appears on my face.

How nice that the sea will accompany us for the next two weeks.

And with it the many great spring and summer flowers that bloom in all colors. We can't get enough of it.

What else was special on the first day:

• the rapid changes in weather - from sun to rain to sun
• the roaring Atlantic, whose power and primal force can be heard and felt
• a reunion with my old friend Dorit and her dog Rocko, who are currently traveling through Portugal and happened to stop in the same place
