We made it and we're in Down Under. Everything went as planned and now we're enjoying Melbourne.
The flight from Bangkok to Melbourne was smooth and the immigration process took only an hour.
As our car, we rented the classic Toyota Yaris hybrid. The start was a bit bumpy as we couldn't start the engine. The rental service agent told us that the hybrid starts moving when you press the gas pedal, even without the engine on. Lesson learned and embarrassment overcome.
At the airport, we got the SIM card we wanted for our phone so we can stay connected all the time. We used the phone as our navigation system and headed to our Airbnb. We're staying here until Monday and then we'll continue to Darwin.
Our accommodation in Heidelberg (a suburb of Melbourne) was greeted by Robyn and Maja, our friends from our time in Sydney. It was a wonderful surprise and a great reunion after 10 years. We toured the house together and finally went to bed for a long-awaited sleep after midnight.
Yesterday, Friday, we spent the morning at the nearby shopping center reminiscing about our time in Australia. We kept discovering familiar things and ended up enjoying amazing fast food, sushi, and meat pie, which you can only get fresh and delicious here.

Thanks to the jet lag, we're struggling to keep up with writing. On Friday afternoon, we met up with the Cotton family and had a great time. We all felt like it hasn't been 10 years since we last saw each other.
