South Island 2.0

Ebimisami: 01.04.2019

Vacation. The word that comes to mind first when I think about the time that has passed since the last entry.

Even though the second half of the South Island turned out differently than we initially thought due to some changes in plans, it was still remarkable until the end. This included fjords, glaciers, rainforests, golden beaches, lonely lakes on the one hand, but also car repairs, physical problems, and cost-cutting measures on the other. After all, we want to experience everything that is possible.

Slowly, it becomes increasingly difficult to put into words what we see here, and it becomes harder for me to describe our new discoveries in the same way as I did in previous entries. The pictures have to speak for themselves, but even these, which are tirelessly taken, cannot capture the moment as it remains in one's memory. You actually wish that you could stay here forever and see it with your own eyes. Because not even the best camera can replace all of this.

Now we are back on the North Island and traveling through the regions that we initially left open.

We are becoming more and more aware that it is approaching the end, and even though homesickness now sneaks into our thoughts more often, we don't want to let go. This would mean leaving this magical land, and no one can claim that they really want that.
