Mi 20th June - Time

Ebimisami: 24.06.2018

Tonight we met two German couples and had a short conversation. In the first three days, they drove from Whitehorse to Palmer. What they still plan to do will continue at the same pace. Ultimately, they want to drive more or less the same route as us, but in a third of the time. How lucky we are, we had time. Early in the morning, the sun shines (the forecast was rain) and we set off to Hatcher Pass. A real mountain pass road takes us into the snow in the second part and the planned hike there falls into the solid water, namely the snow. The view was still worth it. A little further down, we leave our camper and hike into a side valley, mostly along a rushing river. Back in the camper, we have the second serving of pasta with homemade sauce. Still extremely delicious. On the way back to Palmer, we visit a muskox farm, but the entrance fee is too expensive for us. Instead, we head to the city of Palmer. It is quickly explored and so we briefly stop at McDonald's to check our emails. Due to a technical problem, we do this work in the library right next to the camper park. Public libraries in America almost always offer free internet, either on computers or even with WiFi. At the campsite, we get ready for tomorrow, which means dumping and emptying and filling water, as usual. Breakfast is also prepared and finally, it's almost a tradition, we say goodbye.
