I don't want to!

Ebifulumiziddwa: 04.10.2017

Last night was terrible! Not only is the bed sagging to the floor, but also Kay's butt is halfway in my face... These beds...

I've been awake since 6:30 in the morning, but now Kay is urging me to get up. I tell him that I don't want to! I know I have to get up. So I put on my hiking shoes and off we go. We are greeted by a wonderful, star-filled night sky! We manage to get off track again. Oh well, it doesn't matter because we watch and enjoy a beautiful sunrise.

We quickly find our way back on track and pass through a picturesque village with a stone bridge. Astorga 15km. Doable! I think. After about 8km, I run out of energy, somewhere in the middle of nowhere. So I have to keep going. Kay is already annoyed, I'm running too slowly. We sort out our differences and continue together. In the village 5km before Astorga, during our coffee break, we hear that there is a bus that would take us. We see the bus and run, run, run. False alarm! The bus is not a public bus and just leaves us behind. So now we have to walk the last 5km. We make it. Astorga in front of us, on a hill with old buildings and cathedrals. What a town! Pilgrims in front of us and behind us. When we arrive at the hostel, all we want to do is take a shower and rest our legs. To my delight, I'm not the only one feeling the effects of the long walk. I'm glad I brought various creams for muscle relaxation.

I'm also happy that Kay is getting rid of his approximately 1kg travel guide and admitting that bringing his jeans was unnecessary. Who doesn't like to hear that they were right!

After a meal of salad and baguette, we head to the cathedral. Next to the cathedral is the Castle of Astorga. Harry Potter feeling in the middle of Spain. For dinner, we buy spaghetti and Bolognese.

At around 21:00, we are lying in bed like two corpses and soon fall asleep.
