I'm no longer used to it, but north of the Alps it's thawing heavily at night, even in midsummer. Packing up the tent is therefore a damp pleasure.
The Königssee - Bodensee cycle path is a dream of a landscape, especially here in this corner. Most people ride it the other way round, I see many cyclists coming towards me, but hardly anyone overtakes me.
I don't strictly follow it, kommot suggests a shorter but more altitude-rich route, so I'm doing a mix of both.
It's great fun to be able to ride on the closed road near Siegsdorf on the cycle path anyway. I have a date with P and his two friends in Unterwössen for a (alcohol-free) beer at 4:30 p.m. Since I don't know how sensitive to smells his friends are, but I probably don't smell too fresh after over 80 km at 32° C, I take a quick dip in the Tiroler Ache just before Marquartstein, which is also not cold but wonderfully clean.
While enjoying a beer together, we decide to have a joint dinner in Marquartstein. The evening thunderstorm starts only when I am "back home" at the Litzelau campsite.
