Countdown - still 52 days to go!

Ebifulumiziddwa: 01.06.2019

In 52 days it starts! Where to? We still don't know exactly. The main thing is that our van takes us to many beautiful places in Europe and along the way we get to know new people, cultures, and landscapes and step out of our comfort zone. How long will we be on the road? We also don't know, really, we have absolutely no idea. 1 month, 6 months, 1 year, 3 years? Everything is open. It depends on how we feel, how sturdy our van and our health are, and how the budget works out. With us - that's Steffi and Sarah, a couple for almost 3 years - our little Portuguese, a charming fur ball named Filou, is also with us. Filou loves car rides, but whether he also likes living in a car - well, we'll see. We will probably find out on the road whether we really like this lifestyle in the long term. So far, we have only spent 2 sample nights in our van - a self-converted Mercedes Sprinter. Many people say that you have to do without a lot in such a van and that you have to restrict yourself. We see it a bit differently and think that traveling in such a van is absolute luxury. We have often spent several weeks hiking and are used to living out of a backpack and only having the bare necessities (I'm talking about two pairs of socks!). That's why we see our van as a true upgrade! This blog is intended for friends, family, and acquaintances and is supposed to keep those who are interested up to date on us and our journey. We will not only report on our experiences on the road, but also on what you have to plan in advance, how it looks with insurance, how much money we need on the road, etc. You are welcome to email us your questions and we will try to answer them or write a whole blog about it. Steffi is also doing a distance learning course as a journalist on the road, so she has to practice writing anyway :-)
