December 17, 2023 I was in Willemstad on Curaçao several decades ago and remembered it as a very colorful place. It stayed that way. It's fun to walk through the old town with its colorfully painted houses.
On the way I received an offer to take part in an island tour at a very reasonable price. We learned a lot about the history of the island and also the Jews who lived there. One of them is responsible for Curaçao's most famous export: the liqueur of the same name. As the highlight of the tour, we were able to taste this directly in the factory. Afterwards we were dropped off at a beach club for two hours where we were able to swim and sunbathe. We were picked up on time and taken straight back to the ship.
Curacao is fun!
