After only spending 2 of 4 nights at the yoga retreat, we moved to downtown Puerto Viejo. Puerto Viejo is a small coastal town that is home to many backpackers, reggae, weird and strange characters and surfers. Since Lina is now a huge fan of my 15 KM hikes, we "together" decided to go canoeing today.
We went up the rivers, where we saw countless turtles, fish and birds. A huge spider scared one of us because we had the completely rational fear that the spider could jump 5 meters... And then came our highlight: sloths. 3 of them, climbing less than 5 meters away from us. I would have thought they were slow. But no, Lina actually wasn't much faster 😂
In the afternoon we swam on the beaches and ate something. In the evening we had a drink in a karaoke bar, ate the best burger in the world (Soulsurfer place), returned the rental car, examined my new sunburn and saw another sloth on the way home. What a day.
Regarding the sunburn: the sun didn't shine today and I was in the shade a lot. Lina likes to press on the sunburn and laughed at me when I wrapped my head in wet toilet paper. Everything is the same as before...
