Today we visited 'shark valley'. It was an incredible experience. Upon arrival, we immediately saw a beautiful bird and an alligator chilling in the water. The first trail from the main path led through a swampy bush. There we saw baby alligators. They were incredibly cute.
On the way back on the main path, we saw swimming turtles, fish, and butterflies. We also walked on a narrow path through the bushes in search of otters, but unfortunately, they didn't show up.
On our way back on the main path, we had some more experiences. An alligator mother was protecting her babies and roared loudly. Then we walked a little further when the mother crossed the main path to reach the water.
When I was filming a bird at the edge of the path, it started rustling in the water right in front of me. An alligator was swimming right in front of me. My heart skipped a beat. If you want to see animals in their natural environment without a fence, you should definitely visit the Everglades. It is definitely worth it.
Afterwards, we drove about 50 miles to Everglades City. Unfortunately, there was nothing to see there. In between, we stopped at the 'Big Cypress Oasis Visitor Center', where we could observe more alligators in the very clear water.
Another day is over and after a BBQ dinner, we will continue to our final destination - Miami - tomorrow.
