Franz Josef - Day 1+2; Lake Mapourika

We have now spent two nights in our hostel in Franz Josef.
On the first day, we went on a kayak tour over Lake Mapourika in the afternoon until the evening. This lake was formed by glacial ice and is quite black, which beautifully reflects the surrounding rainforest.
On the second day, we initially wanted to take the shuttle to the car park of Fox Glacier and hike to the glacier from there. However, since it rained all day long, and we didn't feel like repeating our trip to Waiheke Islands, we had no choice but to have a laundry day and spend the afternoon in the hostel's hot pool and to read again.
On our departure day, we at least had the opportunity to see the otherwise cloud-covered, snow-covered mountains and one of the glaciers. :)
Pictures will follow as usual with a good internet connection. Unfortunately, this is very patchy here on the South Island.
