When waking up, the thought of "next time I will wake up in Germany" briefly comes to mind - oops, quickly push it aside and start the last vacation day. Our flight back home is at 23:30 tonight, but that also means we still have a full last vacation day ahead of us, to stay optimistic.
One last breakfast on this VIP terrace - it hurts the heart - but it has long been decided that we have to come back.
The suitcases are almost packed and we just want to relax and enjoy today. Where better to do that than at...? Of course, yesterday we chose the favorite beach, today we pay a repeat visit to Petite Anse, for the last time this year. By the way, Andreas and Sonja also ended up in this bay yesterday, but it seems we missed each other. The two of them even got a ride to the beach in the electric car - we won't have that pleasure today - but it gives us another chance to fully "absorb" this view. After all, it has to last for a long, cold and dark German winter.
Once we get down, we go snorkeling one last time, without the underwater camera, just observing and enjoying - how beautiful.
Since the "4 Seasons", the hotel here on the beach, has a huge pool right by the sea (probably almost 30m long), I just can't resist asking if I can try it out. And who doesn't ask, doesn't win, the pool manager grants me access, I should have a drink at the pool bar afterwards as "admission fee" - I would also like to pay the admission to the German swimming pool like this in the future. By the way, there is no one here in the pool, probably because each bungalow has its own private pool - well, even better for me.
And afterwards, it's time for a well-deserved iced coffee, life can be so beautiful.
A little way away from the hotel, there is also a canopy, we're not entirely sure if it belongs to the hotel or if it can be used by the "regular" beach guests - but we're just going to try it out and set up camp there. Here, we diligently write all the vacation postcards and cool off in the sea - it's truly paradise. So the farewell can only be incredibly difficult, and we reluctantly leave in the afternoon.
Back home, we take care of the last little things, pack our suitcases, and have a delicious meal before we head to the airport at around 20:30. Returning the rental car goes smoothly here, and while checking in, we run into Sonja and Andreas again in the never-ending line at the Condor counter. So the waiting time flies by and we have a great time, as Andreas is supposed to bring a box filled with freshly caught fish for his friend who is from the Seychelles and whose family still lives there. This fish is cooled on ice in a styrofoam box, which the friend's family has arranged, and nobody is really sure if the fish will make it to Germany. At least he is checked in, and we are curious if the fish will swim through the baggage carousel in Frankfurt.
Unfortunately, at the security check, my empty Takamaka bottle (it was such a pretty bottle...) is taken away from me, as I wanted to use it as a flower vase here in Germany, as it could allegedly be used to harm people on board the plane. Well, those are the regulations, but still a shame.
At the gate, we also run into Harald and Stefanie, who give us a huge portion of cinnamon bark (handpicked and dried by their landlord from La Digue), and then it's time to board the plane.
So these incredibly eventful and beautiful 3 weeks of vacation come to an end. I can only say that we had an amazingly beautiful time and "Seychelles - see you", we will definitely come back!!!
