Excursion to the pyramids

Ebifulumiziddwa: 09.02.2024

I waited at the hotel for my transport. It was supposed to come between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. and when he wasn't there at 3:02 p.m. I got a little nervous, although in Peru that wouldn't be a significant delay. It wouldn't be that bad, just a bit stupid because then both trips would have been canceled today, but then the driver came. I was expecting a minibus to come, but it was a normal car. And he tells me that I'm the only person on the tour. Of course it's off-season now, but the buses in front of them and the tours were so full, sometimes every seat on the bus was taken. But that's not a bad thing for me and I'm happy about the private tour. First we went to a museum where I got a short tour. I was also shown how weaving is done and I saw great works. I was shown how the raw materials are worked with. The highlight, in addition to the impressive works, were two little puppies that were whirling around the whole time. Then it was a good 40 minute walk to the pyramids in the middle of nowhere. The ride was very cool and again very jerky. It's so incredible how great the landscape looks. There is simply nothing on all sides except mountains, steppe and desert. The pictures only show a fraction of what it was like in reality. When he arrived he explained everything to me. The pyramid he shows me is only 10% explored and is still impressive. It is over 2500 years old. He shows where mummies were found, where the cathedral was and also explains a lot of the land around it to me. Otherwise there were only 2 small groups on site. It was hot but pleasantly windy. I could take photos everywhere. Unfortunately you couldn't get really close because everything is cordoned off because it's still being worked on. But it was still a nice trip. On the way back he told me a little about the town of Nazca. I was very satisfied with the trip. He took me back to the hotel. I got my suitcase there and then went to Mom's Café, which is the meeting point for PeruHop. I was supposed to get more information there, but of course there was no one there. But I meet the German couple from Switzerland again and have a little chat with them. I had written to my guide from PeruHop during this time and was told that someone would be there at 8 a.m. That's what I'm hoping for now. I chat with the two of them for a bit and then they make their way to the hotel. And I sit in the park and eat something small. At 8 a.m. I'll go back to the café, hopefully get some information and have something to eat there. I'm excited to see how it will go...
