At some point, the last day of the tour had to come. Today was the day. In perfect weather, we drove from Stettin towards the south to eventually meet the Oderradweg. Unfortunately, there was no other option than to ride for about 15 km along busy, mostly multi-lane expressways, which is not enjoyable even with a separate bike path. When we finally left that behind, it suddenly became quiet with lots of scenery. At Mescherin, we reached the Oder - strictly speaking, the Westoder, because the river is divided in this area, with many small river parts between the Westoder and the main stream of the Oder. However, the Oderradweg in this area runs exclusively along the Westoder, so we took a short detour near the destination to also see the main stream. Today, we hardly met any cyclists, but when we did, they were mostly tour cyclists like us. The occasional annoyance was once again the headwind, especially when we rode completely unprotected on the Oder dike. As planned, we arrived in Schwedt/Oder at noon, the definitive endpoint of the tour. The odometer read 1350 km. Afterwards, we took the train to Berlin, from where we have reserved the ICE Sprinter to Cologne for tomorrow.
