But our first stop was Boulders Beach. Boulders Beach is the home of African penguins. The cute little creatures were standing there in their colonies on the beach. Even the strong wind didn't bother them. However, we tourists got sandblasted.
We wanted to have lunch at a beach in Cape of Good Hope National Park, but the wind ruined our plans. The wind was so strong that it was impossible to eat and it also became quite chilly. But our guide found a large bush where we could eat comfortably in its wind shadow. Now we just had to watch out for the baboons. Baboons are monkeys that are very keen on our food.
Visiting the lighthouse at Cape Point turned out to be a special challenge. After fighting our way uphill against the wind, the view was zero because Cape Point was engulfed in fog and the wind was so strong that you had to hold on. So we quickly went down again. Because the area has much more to offer.
At Cape of Good Hope, the wind was also omnipresent. It had the advantage that there weren't many people there, but because of the gusts and the wind, you were almost showered after taking a photo.
