Sleepless in Seattle

Today Jeani's family took us on a trip to Seattle. We keep noticing that people like to wait. It's nice to take the ferry, but standing at the dock at least half an hour beforehand would be a bit annoying in the long run. Our friend told us that mainly people who don't have to go to Seattle every day live on the island. It also seems that time moves slower on the island called Vashon. The speed limit on the island feels like walking pace. You don't see anyone in a rush. Everything is quite relaxed. The residents of the island are all more alternative. There are many artists and retirees.

The only thing that's not relaxed on the island is the prices. They are much higher than in Seattle, which is already quite expensive.

Our friends took us to Kerry Park. From there, we had a great view of the Seattle skyline with the Space Needle in the foreground. Heike immediately thought of the movie "Sleepless in Seattle". Christian, of course, didn't because he fell asleep during the movie.

After that, we went for a stroll in an older and hip area of Seattle. The women couldn't get enough of the many shops. The men had enough after the first store. Since Jeani has two boys, the men were outnumbered, and fortunately, we quickly walked through the shopping street.

Afterwards, we went to Lincoln Park. There, near the ferry terminal, we had a beautiful view of Vashon and the surrounding beaches. While we waited for the ferry, we ate delicious breaded chicken pieces.

When we arrived at Jeani's house, we went out with Stevie again and then went to bed tired.
